The criteria: Who deserves to be awarded a scholarship?
Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth funds are disbursed primarily for students who come from a financially stressed background, and whose families are unable to pay for their ward’s college education. To receive such a scholarship, families must demonstrate financial need; good academic performance and artistic or other skill are also important criteria. Given annually, scholarships will have to be earned every year: students will have to show a commitment to study and continuously strive to keep up academic performance to be eligible to receive scholarships for the following years.

CVV is committed to assembling a diverse student body drawn from across India and across socioeconomic communities. While we naturally draw a large number of students from Kerala, our scholarships enable us to attract talent from everywhere. A University scholarship committee scrutinises the socioeconomic status and the academic track record and makes independent decisions on students who are deserving of scholarship.

Each student brings with them a story

  • When Nayanadevi was offered a scholarship to pursue an undergraduate course in CVV, it came as a huge reprieve for her, as the only other option would have been to join a local college and take whatever was offered. The scholarship has allowed her to make intelligent choices based on her interests and her understanding of a future that she hopes to craft for herself.
  • Meet Shivam Raikar from Ponda, Goa. The only child of Shekar Raikar, an undergraduate course of this calibre was a distant dream. Little did he realise that the CVV scholarship programme would enable him to reach for his future.
  • Niveditha B. from Tripunithura, Kerala. Scored 78% in Plus 2. Passionate about Śāstra and Sāhitya, the CVV Scholarship is the lifeline of her education.
